We all look through different windows in the same room.
Pure beauty can be found in everyday situations as much as in exceptional circumstances. The definition is based on personal interpretations. Beauty is subjective, instinctive and honest and exists far beyond trendy lifestyles and dogmas. BWI wants to research this plurality: we won't focus on one aspect but will collect beauty across from all disciplines and senses such as fashion, photography, literature, music, fine arts, multimedia, architecture, food...
Their common link will be a specific theme/concept chosen for each expo/city, depending on the venue, location and needs of the area, which enlighten a specific beautiful subject. Each theme will be explored more deeply in that particular exhibition. BWI will show the great variety of beauty on offer and will leave the interpretion open to the audience. This will provide a vivid dicussion and stimulation among the participants and the public.

BWI attempts to challenge the fine arts by
- inviting criticism, to formulate a new way of perceiving art (straight from the heart is a nice start), trends...;
- fresh human initiatives to search for the core in art...;
- collecting artwork in a new context;
- opening other ways of communicating art to the general public (not just the so-called elite);
- pulling art out of musea into urban places, close to everyday life;
_ securing acessability for everyone (young, old, educated or not, different ethnicities, handicapped people...);
- sending out the message 'believe in your own personal beauty !;
- stimulating an exchange between fashion and other creative fields (especially in fashion cities such as Antwerp and Paris);
- raising interesting and pressing questions concerning recent perceptions of art and design.

I know, we're working on a new & better website-if all goes well we'll get funding from an art foundation for the new site later this month. The original site was done by an enthousiastic friend, who isn't very good with html;-)
