A record number of entries, many of an exceptionally high standard, made selecting the finalists of the 3rd edition of the Iconique Societás Awards a difficult task. However, having tallied up the jury’s votes, Societás and Iconique are pleased to unveil the winners.
Jennifer Endom of the United Kingdom is the winner of the 'Excellence in Fashion Photography Award 2009'. Her entry ‘Kaleidoscope’ illustrates a bold, sophisticated and original style, born of a strong appreciation of colour, light and form. The jury voted Liselotte Schuppers of the Netherlands 1st Runner-up and Dido Fontana of Italy 2nd Runner-up.
Spela Tabak of the Netherlands is the winner of the 'Excellence in Fashion Illustration Award 2009'. Her entry ‘Cup of Tea’ displays a highly innovative approach to illustration, fusing together drawing skills with origami, photography and a variety of computer imaging techniques to great effect. Jaume Vilardell, also of the Netherlands, was voted 1st Runner-Up and Adriana Munoz of the United Kingdom was voted 2nd Runner-Up. The jury also awarded a merit to Wang Youyi of Shanghai.
Ashburn Eng of Singapore is the winner of the 'Excellence in Fashion Styling Award 2009'. His entry ‘Paper Couture’, which features models wearing clothing and accessories hand-crafted of paper and card, demonstrates a highly progressive and distinct style, which left the jury in little doubt that Eng is ‘one to watch’. ‘Paper Couture’ gained the highest number of jury votes in the awards, making Ashburn Eng the overall winner of the Iconique Societás Awards 2009. First runner-up in the styling award category is Isis Vaandrager of the Netherlands and Isabel Felmer of Chile is the 2nd Runner-Up.
