Mexico based company Rococo gives a new life to the both loved and hated ornate style… Objects and furniture take another character by being chosen for its carvings, forms and qualities in antique shops and bazaars in Mexico. With the intention of supporting Mexican art and talent, Rococo incorporates into its production craftsmen and artists that rescue restore and give a new story to each piece.
Our favourite is Rococo Lab, a laboratory of ideas and creative design in which the founders of the company and Mexican artists design unique textiles that are inspired in colors, textures, images and folklore of Mexico and the world.

Following the international success of the exhibition Jeff Koons Versailles in 2008, and the remarkable creation of site-specific works by Veilhan in 2009, it is now the turn of Takashi Murakami who is invited this year to present his work at Versailles. By creating new works for this occasion, which will be added to existing ones from his repertoire, he will continue Versailles’ long tradition of openness to creativity.
Murakami is one of the most celebrated artists of our time. The combination of his fame with that of the Château of Versailles will show the degree to which, despite the centuries that separate them, the masters of the past are able to enter into dialogue with those of the present, and vice versa. Murakami’s talent has created new imagery, drawing on both the resources of the tradition of his country, from the Japanese cartoons known as manga, but also pop culture. His virtuosity, his familiarity with precious materials and his sense of the mediating role of art, find, within the vast “machine” of creation, innovation and communication
which is Versailles, a fascinating echo.
When Iconique came across the work of Ivana Pilja we were immediately intrigued. Ivana Pilja is a Fashion Designer and Graduate of the "College of Design", Belgrade, Serbia . She worked as a designer for sport and streetwear lines in various fashion houses since 2007 and it’s there she gained great experience. We show her first avant-garde collection...
We love this pair of black leather brogues with perforated holes... a perfect excuse to wear bright coloured socks and very sophisticated. "Left shoe!!! Right shoe!!!" by artist Liam Gillick was made in collaboration with our friends at Clemens en August.
We like to pop a bottle of champagne whenever we can find the right excuse! This special bottle will make you think twice before you open it up though. The ultraluxurious GoldenJeroboam, especially created by the French jeweller Arthus Bertrand, is covered in goldleaf and filled with 3 litres of Möet & Chandon....
