UNA BURKE META.MORPH

Iconique was already amazed by Úna Burke’s wearable artpieces created for her collection Re.Treat, her amazing craftsmanship enables her to realize pieces that are sculptural, kinky and almost unearthly.



Úna’s most recent collection, Meta.Morph, of sculptural accessories and armour like body pieces investigates the changes that occur when prosthetic limbs and medical braces are applied to a body. A dark idea that is accompanied by the experimental film which combines the inspirations that arose from the collection, with an influence from Michael Snow’s iconic 1967 experimental film ‘Wavelength’, the cinepoems of Man Ray and jarring aspects of psychological horror. It’s hard not to notice her creations’ theatrical abilities; no wonder she has already been embraced by the likes of Nicola Formichetti, Lady GaGa and Christina Aguilera. Burke’s wearable works of art are meant to be in the spotlights…
