Percy Irausquin: Tapis Rouge

The darling of Dutch couture, Percy Irausquin, had the audience swinging on the edge of their seats. After a red start of day wear that even included a pair of jeans, the show slowly moved to cocktail dresses and finally black tie. His theme ‘tapis rouge’ (red carpet) showed the designer’s ability to dress international celebrities for Oscar nights and Emmy Award shows. Irausquin’s trademark: luxurious and opulent dresses with abundant use of fabric, made up the finale of the show reinforced by Donna Summer’s disco classics. (JVG)
